Working on this series is so frustrating… The chapters are so short so virtually nothing happens in each chapter. Plus there’s a two month wait between chapters. I guess it’s because the novel’s stalled (more than 2 years since last book) and there’s no story-line being written, so what’s the point of the manga?

edit: Fixed the link for 38.

  1. Thx for the update to this series. Is the author of the novel series suffering from some sort writer’s block? Anybody know the reason for the its hiatus status?

    • I don’t know. As far as I can tell, there’s no official reason. Book 13 was supposed to come out November 2013, but was pushed back for a few months, and now there isn’t even a release date. Publishers haven’t made any announcement either, and this isn’t their only series that’s been deserted.

    • In the best case, it should be something like what happenned to Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance and there was some kind of issue in the publication chain (in ST’s case it was illustrator’s health issues that ended in a change of illustrator). In the worst case (barring fatal illness of the author), they are pulling a Tanigawa.
Other possibilities could be a writer’s block, disagreements between the author and the publisher and third party’s pressure. There are many things that can stall a series.

I would have included “author focused in another series” in the list, as it has happenned with Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, but his only series is Tsukio Tsuki! (both LN and manga, to the point he’s the only best-selling LN author I know of to not have a dedicated wikipedia article), so that seems unlikely.

    • It’s not. It’s at volume 6 out of 12 released so far. And like some people have mentioned, it’s skipped some parts if the story.
I reckon it’s more that since the manga is supposed to supplement the novel, and there’s no novel, there’s no need for to push the manga.

  2. I really like this series, but you are right, the chapters are short, and the light novel is stalled, though at this point, they can probably call it complete at this point. I also wished they didn’t skip some of the arcs in the novel. Thanks for all the work though.

    • They could well end the manga soon too. They don’t have enough material to fill in the current volume (v7) yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see a volume 8.
